INFORMATION AND CONTACT SECTION.
I started shooting professionally in 1985 although I've had a camera in my hands ever since I was a kid. I learnt on film and had a working darkroom in my house from the age of seven. My father was a keen amateur and taught me how to process and print my first few rolls of film. I loved music and in my late teens I developed the knack of wangling press passes to photograph my heroes on stage. From that point onwards I always wanted to be at the front, where the action was. Following a degree in Graphic Design at Middlesex Poly I walked the streets of London looking for work. Soon I was busy shooting editorial work for Magazines and Newspapers from Time Out to Bob Maxwell's Daily Mirror. Those were the days of film, and I was a regular at Joe's Basement, waiting for film to come off the dryer at midnight so I could run it to the Mirror picture desk for tomorrows rock pages. Eventually I picked up an agent and started pitching for advertising work. Scanners appeared in the early 90's and pretty soon I was scanning my film overnight so my shots could be digitised and ready the next morning. Eventually my beautiful film Hasselblad had to go, replaced by a digital 35mm Camera. The quality of digital wasn't as good as film in those days, but it was faster. Technology leapt ahead over the next few years and these days I'm purely digital from start to finish and I use the best high resolution cameras to get the detail and quality my clients expect. Retouching is done on Apple computers using Capture One and Photoshop, viewed on Lacie colour corrected screens. I can provide finished work on disk, or can upload to my server, so you can download the pictures from wherever you are. Magic!
My studio is ideal for shooting portraits and products but I'm just as happy on location wherever you are.
